BioCarolyn was born in Mobile, Alabama and lived there until the age of seven. Her family then moved to Concord, North Carolina where she began learning to play the guitar. From a Mel Bay guitar book and Glen Campbell records, Carolyn quickly taught herself to play. By the age of eight, she was composing her own songs. When Carolyn was twelve, she and her family moved to Pensacola. During this time Dan Fogelbergs music had a big influence on Carolyns writing style. As a teenager, Carolyn and her sister Lisa sang together at church and family functions. They also formed a singing ensemble with some of their friends. Carolyn wrote songs in three- part harmony and accompanied the group on guitar. Carolyn graduated from the University of Florida (go Gators) with a degree in Broadcast Production and Management. She then got her first commercial television job in Fort Pierce Florida as a character generator operator/camera operator for a CBS affiliate. Carolyn moved to Houston in 1988 to work as a technical director for the local CBS affiliate, and worked her way up to producer/director. Carolyn and some friends from the television station formed the band "Mixed Signals" in 1991 and played cover songs as well as original material. After Mixed Signals broke up, Carolyn joined the classic rock cover band "FlatCat", where she was also able to perform some of her original material. Carolyn formed the band "Idle Chaos" in 1999, in an effort to perform more of her original music and express her own musical style. Carolyn and "Idle Chaos" can be seen at various clubs in and around the Houston area.
